Things I Fear: Final
Oct. 31st, 2012 10:07 pmThe last and the greatest.
#31: INFINITY
I cannot contemplate the infinite. The idea of something going on literally forever - without end, never ceasing - never fails to give me a panic attack.
The concept itself eludes me no matter how hard I try to conceive it. I think of eternity, and my brain simply will not accept it. One day followed by another followed by another followed by another... without any cessation? It makes no sense at all. I can see how other people accept it, but I can't wrap my head around the idea.
This is why I don't have a concept of the afterlife. There is no way I can possibly deal with an unceasing span of time in any sort of world in any way. I don't believe in a god; I can't conceive of an afterlife. It may exist, but I can't accept it.
And yet, you know what DOESN'T scare me? Clowns.
