Things I Fear: Eleventh

#11: SUFFOCATION
Sometimes, when I wake up, I feel my heart beating fast and have a hard time catching my breath. This leaves me with a deep, sinking fear.
One of my most irrational worries is that the world is running out of air. Whenever I get light-headed, the fear haunts me. I don't even like to look over articles about deforestation because it triggers that paranoia.
I've always held a nightmare that I'll be left unable to breathe just long enough to suffer permanent brain damage. Thankfully, I was not born asthmatic.
