Saw The Dark Knight Rises
Sep. 16th, 2012 11:37 pmI love The Dark Knight. It's one of my favorite movies of the past few years.
So I looked forward to this movie for a long time...
And I must say, I was disappointed.
- The first third of the movie was quite disjointed, and suffered from the twin perils of overly-enthusiastic editing and shakycam.
- Tom Hardy's Bane is nearly impossible to understand through that mask.
- Once Bane is fully introduced, he becomes far too powerful and, as a result, boring. None of his plans ever fail. I don't think Batman ever stops him at any point in the entire movie.
- The second act of the film lasts FAR too long. Even my parents (who like this movie) agreed on that.
- Batman does almost nothing in his own film. Catwoman and Detective Blake do almost all the heroics.
Any good points? One important one: the ending is perfect. Just perfect. Too bad it was attached to this film.
