Socializing: Holiday Weakness Edition
Nov. 22nd, 2011 11:08 pmSo on Sunday I spent the day with my dad's family. It went pretty well, all told. I talked to the guys for a while, and after dinner I played dominos against my grandmother and some other female relatives.
I don't think they'll ever forgive me for when I yelled "You are a BITCH!" at my cousin's wife, though. In my defense, she played a double with no cap when I was three away from victory.
Today I visited the Scott County Anchor Center for a "Farkle and Pie" event. Never played Farkle before. Turns out it's a lot like Zilch. Had to talk to strangers, which went pretty well when I stuck to the twin topics of work and my vacations.
Managed not to discuss My Little Pony.
On Thanksgiving I'm going down to spend the day with my mother's family. I haven't seen them in a while. My grandmother had breast cancer a while ago, and so this risks being the last time I see her, God forbid.
I think I'm starting to learn some of the tricks of this "socializing" business.
