I started playing the Doom Roguelike the other day. This makes a grand total of two such games I've played (the other being Desktop Dungeons, which I recommend).
Not the most complex game in the world, but that's its major selling point to me. I can't stand games that require you to read and memorize their wikis before you can get past the first few areas (see: Nethack, Dwarf Fortress). This one comes down to knowing which keys do what, and... that's about it.
Overall, I rather enjoy it. It's quick to learn and takes little time to become halfway decent at (I made it to the tenth floor on my second try). Even though I enjoy Atlus games, I still have a place in my heart for the quick-studies.
Though I do question why you can take so much less damage in this game than in the actual Doom. It's annoying.
