Back in February, I booked a room at the Circus Circus for three nights near the end of September. My mother was surprised that I was serious about going to Las Vegas, but I've always wanted to go.
One of my driving goals was to see Penn and Teller perform live. So I called in May to buy tickets, but was told that September tickets don't go on sale until July.
Today I called to order them... and was told that, in fact, the week I'm in Vegas is their week off. Two months of anticipation and one of my major purposes for going to Nevada both shoot down the tubes.
Oh, well... One door closes, another door opens. That opens a night on my schedule that was previously taken. So I call to buy tickets for Crazy Girls, the other show I had decided to see.
The operator tells me that their computer system only has August shows available at the moment, but then offers to write the info down on paper.
I'm a little slow on the uptake, but I refuse to let my credit card information sit on a scrap of paper for two months. So I hung up and made a note to call back in late August.
So I finally managed to guarantee I have SOMETHING to do in Vegas by buying a ticket to see Blue Man Group on Tuesday night. With my luck, I'll break an ankle walking to the show.
Next time, I'm letting someone ELSE put all the crap together.
And I haven't even started making dinner reservations yet!
