Fifty Words: Supermarket

(The following is an idea I've seen before: an attempt to write a story in fifty words or less.  This explanation, of course, isn't counted.)

I recently discovered an ancient god, so old that it has no name.  They say that if it ever hungers, the world will end.  And it only feeds on blood.

Fortunately, any blood will do.

The next time your steak is dry, thank your butcher.  He saved your life.
