It's a card game.
Deck: Three 52-card decks, with all Jokers included, making a total of 162 cards. The rank is A (high), K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3. Jokers and twos are wild cards.
Players: A minimum of three.
Rules: Each player attempts to empty their hand first in each round.
The game takes place over seven rounds, each of which requires a different combination of cards before discarding can begin. At the start of each round, the dealer deals out eleven cards to each player, and then turns over the top card of the deck, starting the discard pile. Play then begins to the dealer's left and continues clockwise around the table.
On his turn, a player may either draw the top card of the deck or take the top card of the discard pile. At the end of his turn, the player discards one card. In between, the player may "go down" if his cards meet the round's criteria, or play cards from his hand onto other players's table cards.
Going Down: The center of the game is attempting to "go down", that is, place cards from one's hand onto the table. The cards must meet specific criteria for each round, but always come in two varieties - "runs" or "sets".
A set is a group of three or more cards of the same rank. Suit does not matter. A set is valid only if at least half the cards are the card of the appropriate number - in a set of threes, two of the cards must be threes; the third may be wild. Sets may be any size when played to the table as long as they meet the prerequisites.
Runs are groups of four or more cards in sequence (such as 4, 5, 6, 7), all of the same suit. Runs may be any size and do not need to be specifically four cards when played to the table. At least half the cards must be the correct cards for their position; the rest may be wild. In hands requiring multiple runs, each run must be a separate suit from the others.
The criteria for each round is as follows:
Round 1: Two sets
Round 2: One set, one run
Round 3: Two runs
Round 4: Three sets
Round 5: Two sets, one run
Round 6: Two runs, one set
Round 7: Three runs
All cards must be played to the table at the same time; thus, in the first round, the player must play two sets at the same time. She cannot play one set during one turn and the second set during another.
Buying: During a player's turn, other players may ask to "buy" the top card of the discard pile. The first player to ask gets the opportunity. They must ask before the active player draws a card.
The active player may choose to agree or disagree. If the player agrees, he gives the player the discarded card as well as two cards from the deck. If the player disagrees, he must take the discard into his hand instead of drawing from the deck.
Players may only "buy" twice per round.
An optional rule states that when the discard is taken, the other players may request the card beneath it as well.
Going Out: When a player has played her cards to the table, she may play cards from her hand onto any set of cards on the table. These cards must follow the rules of the original grouping - cards added to a set must be the same rank; cards added to a run must be in sequence with the highest or lowest card unless they replace a wild card.
Players may play cards that were "replaced" with a wild card. If a player does, it is put in the wild card's place, and the player must play the wild card immediately on any other group of cards on the table. The player may choose to play the wild card onto a set; doing so is called "burying" the wild card, as it cannot be further moved.
A player may not discard the last card in his hand. He may only go out by playing the last card(s) onto a group on the table.
A player may not go out on a turn where she added the top discard to her hand. She may only go out on a turn where she drew from the deck.
Scoring: When a player plays his final card and empties his hand, all players reveal their hands for scoring. Point values are as follows:
Three through nine: Five points
Tens, jacks, queens, and kings: Ten points
Aces: Fifteen points
Wild cards (jokers and twos): Twenty points
Winning: The player with the lowest point total at the end of the seventh round is the winner.
